About this product

These plankton nets have a frame diameter of 250 mm and are 550 mm long. They are constructed in-house at our workshop in Devon and are available in a range of nylon precision mesh. The net finishes with a 50 mm diameter cod end with means to connect our 250ml collecting bottles. It also comes with a screw on filter which has the same mesh as the main body of the net.

Compatible accessories include our 250 ml collecting bottle, clear extension tube and tap valve.

The 7m towing harness means these nets can be used either from a boat or a suitable bank, jetty or beach. The plankton net also has weight loops, allowing weights to be attached for sampling at greater depths. Please note that weights are not included with the net.

Note: If using the plankton net in saline or brackish water, please rinse it in fresh water after use and dry thoroughly to protect the net and prevent cross-contamination between sampling sites.

Superb net and customer service.

I bought the 35-μm net along with a 20 μm, 35 μm and 53-μm filter. Superb item, comes with a 7-metre tow rope, you need to visit your local angling shop to buy some weights to attach in order for the net to sink. Weights are cheap and worked immediately for us. The company were very good and helpful and most certainly will use again.
