About this book

This field guide was produced to accompany the joint QRA/GLWG Field Meeting to Glen Clova, Scotland, 24-27th October, 2019.

The guide has been written to accompany a field meeting of the Glacial Landsystems Working Group (GLWG) of the QRA and is therefore directed to the landforms and sediments related to the former glaciation of the area. The first part of the guide presents a number of chapters reviewing a number of themes; it also tries to place this within the catchment of the River South Esk, which flows through Glen Clova, as means of linking the lowland and upland landscapes of Eastem Scotland. The second part of the guide introduces the different landscapes that characterise Glen Clova and the adjacent area of the Highland Boundary.
