About this book

The book describes the best birding sites in exceptional detail, made even clearer by Dave Gosney's trademark maps. It has 44 pages packed with information including 25 pages of maps. It is based mostly on Gosney's trip to France in 2016 in which he ‘road-tested’ dozens of sites to judge how easy it was to find the birds that were supposed to be there. The book describes exactly where he successfully found nearly all the desired species and also points out where he didn’t. It covers the key birding sites in the hotspots of the Camargue, the Pyrenees, the Alps and the Cevennes, plus a few other sites too.
