Concerned over the lack of educational programmes in the discipline which is so essential for the sustainable use of all freshwater resources, this report examines the current strengths and weaknesses of the field, and discusses how improvements can be made. |Also discussed is the way limnology can contribute to appropriate policies for industrial waste, wetlands destruction, the release of greenhouse gases, and species invasions.
