La Guia Geología de Menorca: Itinerarios Naturales y Culturales does not aim to be a book popularizing conventional geology but aims to show how this science affects many aspects related to biodiversity, history and traditional culture. The guide aims to take advantage of the most attractive facet of many geological publications, while also being of interest to the general public and of use for geological excursions.

This book contains 12 environmental itineraries. The first of them, as an introduction, goes through areas of geological interest and where the geology developed through several of its subdisciplines such as stratigraphy, geomorphology, palaeontology, geotechnics or hydrogeology. This is linked with biotic, archaeological and ethnological aspects of the territory itself, and, ultimately, with human activity. Urban itineraries, ravines, beaches, rocky coasts, the interior of Menorca, ... all environments are described in simple language, as can be used as a teaching tool, or simply be read by the general public who are interested in the beauty of the geodiversity of Menorca.

La Guia Geología de Menorca: Itinerarios Naturales y Culturales no pretén ser un llibre de divulgació de la geologia convencional sinó que ha procurat mostra com aquesta ciència condiciona nombrosos aspectes, relacionats amb la biodiversitat, però també amb la història i la cultura tradicional. La guia ha volgut aprofitar la faceta més atractiva de moltes publicacions sobre geologia a la vegada esser més i un atraient més per al públic en general, les excursions geològiques.

El Present volum s'articula en 12 itineraris mediambientals. El primer d'ells plantejat a manera d'introducció, que transcorren per zones d'interès geològic i on la geologia desenvolupada mitjançant diverses de ses disciplines autònomes com són l'estratigrafia, la geomorfologia, la paleontologia, la geotècnia o la hidrogeologia, enllaça amb: aspectes biòtics, arqueològics o etnològics del propi territori i, en definitiva, amb l'activitat humana. Itineraris urbans, barrancs, platges, costes rocalloses, l'interior de Menorca,... són ambients descrits amb un llenguatge senzill, com instrument didàctic per a professors i públic en general,interessats per la bellesa de la geodiversitat de Menorca.
