About this book

Language: German

A greater short-toed lark graces the cover of the fifth installment in the series Seltene Vögel in Deutschland. The core of the 64-page report is, as usual, the DAK Rarity Report on the evidence of rare bird species in Germany in 2015. Among the highlights are the first records of the Syrian woodpecker and Bulwer's petrel. Other notable observations from 2015 are Germany's second and third semipalmated sandpiper, the third observation of Swainson's thrush and eastern black-eared wheatear, as well as the fourth observation of a Calandra lark, spectacled warbler and eyebrowed thrush. These and several hundred other observations are presented in detail and presented with numerous photos and complementary graphics and maps.
