About this book

Language: Chinese

The first part of this book consists of six chapters. Chapter 1 briefly describes the international Silurian (444-419 million years ago) chronostratigraphic division and research status. Chapter 2 gives an overview of the Silurian stratigraphic division in China. Chapters 3 to 6 respectively introduce the Silurian development and their respective representative profiles (or comprehensive profiles) of South China, Tarim, China-Thailand-Myanmar-Ma and Xing'an blocks. Dam, Chongqing Xiushan Rongwu, Tiansheng Qujing, Guizhou Shiqian Leijiatun, Guizhou Tongzi Daijiagou, Sichuan Guangyuan Xuanhe, Jiangxi Wuning-Xushui and other profiles (or comprehensive profiles) Tarim, China, Thailand, Myanmar and Xing'an respectively. The Keping Tiereke Awati in Xinjiang, Laojianshan in Baoshan in Yunnan and Heihe in Heilongjiang are selected as their respective reference standards.

The second part is the atlas of landmark fossils. This part actually belongs to the category of biostratigraphy, which is a separate chapter in view of its importance in stratigraphic research and field practice. Taking into account the differences in the research degrees of various Silurian fossil phyla in China, this part only involves 11 fossil phyla with relatively fine biostratigraphic research, namely graptolites; conodonts; insects; brachiopods; trilobites; nautilus; bryozoans; ancient plants and sporopollen;
