Tony Russell worked in forestry for over 20 years before pursuing a career in writing. Catherine Cutler is the supervisor of the humid tropics biome at the Eden Project, England. Martin Walters worked as Biological Sciences Editor before becoming a freelance writer. Mick Lavelle is a senior lecturer in landscape management at Writtle College, Chelmsford.
