This series, now complete in three volumes, can claim to be the most complete record of algal life ever published, the editor having drawn on the work of 115 mycologists from around the world. Each species is treated in two pages, with illustrations of all known stages of life history, with references in their original language. Explanations of life history, distribution, and notes are in Japanese. Explanations of figures are in English.
