Flora Vitiensis Nova: A New Flora of Fiji

Now complete, this major work is a successor to Berthold Seemann's Flora Vitiensis (1865-1873). It accounts for all seed plants now known to occur in the Fijian archipelago, including indigenous, adventive, and cultivated plants. It incorporates keys to all taxa, full bibliographic references, descriptions of included families and genera, and comprehensive notes on species, with discussions of typification, distribution, local names and uses, and with citations of representative collections. In all there are 725 figs (mostly photos) with 48 pp in colour.
The Fijian flora has affinities to Tonga, Samoa, the New Hebrides, and especially Malesia and is thus important to all students of Pacific Basin plants.
