The Indian state of Chhattisgarh has many unexplored regions that are very rich in natural resources. This book deals with the description of the characteristic features of the algal strains, collected and isolated from the different ecological niches. It also includes the physicochemical characterization of different soils collected from different regions of Chhattisgarh.

This book consists of four chapters that mainly focus on the diversity of cyanobacteria, green algae and diatoms based on microscopic analysis. In spite of these, their historic and modem applications have been discussed and mentioned in this book through the contribution of the specialized research findings of researchers and make this book a suitable reference for B.Sc, M.Sc, and PhD students. This book also aims at providing ideas for the generation or exploration of valuable resources from algae for human society.
