About this book

An Atlas of Flowering Plants and Ferns of Anglesey by R.H. Roberts was published privately in a limited edition of 12 in 2002. The Atlas is currently a very rare book with only three copies known to remain worldwide. In order to ensure this is major contribution to the knowledge of Anglesey flora survives and becomes widely available the atlas has been reprinted (privately) by John G.Kelcey, with the kind permission of Mrs Pat Chapman, the author's daughter.

For virtually 50 years, until his death in 2003 R.H. Roberts was the foremost botanist of North Wales, especially Anglesey. An Atlas of Flowering Plants and Ferns of Anglesey is based on observations of the Anglesey flora between 1955 and 2002 augmented by others obtained between 1955 and 2000. It contains distribution maps (based on a 2 km × 2 km grid) of 810 species and 50 hybrids and is designed for use with and complements Roberts Flowering Plants and Ferns of Anglesey, which was published in 1982.
