About this book

Language: French

In the vast world of insects, two groups are among the most studied: butterflies and dragonflies. After the success of the Atlas des Papillons de Jour de Bourgogne et Franche-Comté and with the increase in knowledge about dragonflies, it seemed obvious to produce a work concerning dragonflies  in this new large region in Eastern France, which was created by the 2014 territorial reform of French regions.

A long-term study initiated in 2010 has allowed for the production of this atlas which the editors hope will amaze you and interest you even more in dragonflies. This book illustrates in detail the 75 species present in the region, their distribution, their biology, and the threats to them. Twenty chapters complement the monographs, all of which are richly illustrated.

This atlas aims to present the diversity of dragonflies in this region in a pleasant way and to share the knowledge acquired throughout these years. Finally, let's not forget that nature is constantly in motion and that a work of this type presents an snapshot in time. It will have evolve with the populations of odonates, influenced by the changes to the natural environment and by climate change, but also by the knowledge that we have of them.
