About this book

Language: Spanish

This is an identification guide to the hairs of all 67 species of mammals that inhabit the Iberian Peninsula using photographs taken under a microscope. Hair microstructure is specific to each species and can identify what species the hair sample belongs to. This allows studies of carnivorous diets or trapping abundance and distribution of hairs collected.

For each species is given a general description of the species, its distribution, and detailed hair characteristics. Longitudinal photographs of the surface of hair and the medulla are given at three different levels (root, middle and apical) and a cross sectional photos is also included.
