The rainforests of the Amazon basin contain the most diverse bird faunas of any area on earth. This six-CD set presents the vocalizations of 446 bird and 10 mammal species occurring in the lowland humid forests of Amazonian Brazil south of the Amazon river from the Rio Madeira east to the southeastern edge of the Amazon basin in Maranhao.
This area encompasses some of the world's most renowned birding sites. These audio recordings are the key for anyone seeking the remarkable creatures of southeastern Amazonia.
Customer Reviews:
No common names?!
by Bill in USA
The recordings are fine, I suppose, but the tracks are identified only by scientific (Latin) name. This makes usage incredibly difficult for the average birder who will be learned common (English) names. Had I known this little fact, I never would have bought the set. And how could the publisher, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, be so short sighted?
A major disappointment.
