Language: English, includes checklist with English, German, Norwegian, Sámi and scientific nomenclature
This is a guide book to the world's finest arctic birding destination: the Varanger peninsula in the northeasternmost part of Norway, along the Barents Sea. The guide contains 30 maps of all the best bird sites in Pasvik and Varanger, from regional overview maps to detailed site maps, and aerial panorama photos of all key sites from Øvre Pasvik in the south to Berlevåg in the north. It describes where and when to find birds and will help you find the most exciting sites in Varanger. To help with identification, 100 colour photos of all the key bird species are included. Throughout, all bird names are given in both English and Norwegian and at the end of the book there is a complete checklist of all birds ever seen here, giving scientific names and vernacular names in four languages.
