The focus of this publication is on molecular genetics and specifically its role in the testing and application of a procedure called "Tripelverfahrens" on bases, inverted bases or base pairs of mitochondrial genomes.

In volume 3 an in-depth description is given of the analysis of the mitochondrial genomes of the Veneridae and Veneroida after this procedure, modifications of it, sequence analysis of the mitochondrial genome, analysis of the mitochondrial genomes of the Mytilidae and Pectinidae, Pteriomorphia and Unionoida after this procedure, and a discussion of the graphical differential representation of the mitochondria and their genes; in an annex tables can be found with results when using this procedure using bases, inverted bases and base pairs for the bivalves, as well as analyses of the mitochondrial genomes after this procedure for Aves and Reptilia, Iguanidae, Falconiformes and plants.

Der Schwerpunkt der Darstellungen liegt bei der Molekulargenetik und insbesondere bei der Prüfung und Anwendung des Tripelverfahrens bei Basen, invertierten Basen beziehungsweise Basenpaaren von mitochondrialen Genomen.

In Band 3 werden die Analyse der mitochondrialen Genome der Veneridae und Veneroida nach dem Tripelverfahren, Modifikationen des Tripelverfahrens, die Sequenzanalyse des mitochondrialen Genoms, die Analyse der mitochondrialen Genome der Mytilidae und Pectinidae, Pteriomorphia sowie Unionoida nach dem Tripelverfahren, eine Diskussion der grafischen Differenzdarstellung sowie die Mitochondrien und deren Gene einführend beschrieben; in einem Anhang sind Tabellen der Ergebnisse bei Anwendung des Tripelverfahrens unter Nutzung von Basen, invertierten Basen und Basenpaaren für die Bivalvia sowie Untersuchungen der mitochondrialen Genome nach dem Tripelverfahren der Aves und Reptilia, Iguanidae und Falconiformes sowie "Pflanzen" zu finden.
