About this book

Language: English

This field guide compiles the butterfly fauna and wildflowers around Tollygunge Club, a country club located in Tollygunge in south Kolkata, India. It took more than a year to capture the richness of butterfly fauna of this area. Seventy-six species of butterflies and 36 species of wildflowers have been documented and have been described in detail with colour photographs of each species. This book covers almost sixty percent of the entire diversity of butterflies that are found in Kolkata. To that extent it may be said to go well beyond the Tollygunge Club in coverage.
