Amateur primatologist Dale Peterson embarked on a project with Jane Goodall which took him through Africa to observe chimpanzees and the individuals who study them. This book is a sympathetic portrait of a troubled continent and all those, both human and otherwise, who live there.
Dale Peterson is also the author of The Deluge and the Ark: A Journey into Primate Worlds and Storyville, USA (Georgia). He is coauthor, with Jane Goodall, of Visions of Caliban (Georgia) and coauthor, with Richard Wrangham, of Demonic Males. Peterson teaches at Tufts University.
