About this book

Language: French

Following the death of the French botanist Christian Maugé from Ariège, a department in the Midi-Pyrénées region of southwestern France, his family entrusted his field notebooks to the Association des Naturalistes de l'Ariège (ANA) that contains observations on 2500 plant species that live close to the almost 11 000 km of roads that traverse the Pyrenees. By following in his footsteps, and with help of his field notebooks, ANA here gives an overview of his naturalistic findings: lists of species observed, locations of rare and protected species, and findings new to the flora of Ariège.

Edited by ANA, this beautiful coffee table book introduces Christian Maugé and the vegetable riches of the Ari
ège he observed. This book traces the journey of an original and passionate botanist who walked the area for ten years to improve the knowledge of the flora of Ariège: and observed more than one hundred plants species never before documented in this department of France.
