Biography

Dr Ravinder Singh Chandel completed his PhD in Entomology from Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, in 1992 and served as Assistant Professor (Entomology) at CSK HPKV, Palampur, and Senior Scientist (Agricultural Entomology) at ICAR-CPRI, Kufri (Shimla). He is currently working in the capacity of Head (Entomology) at CSK HPKV, Palampur, for the last 4 years. Dr Chandel has more than 30 years of experience in potato pest management, soil arthropod management, and the extension of IPM technologies among farmers. His contribution to IPM technologies of potato white grubs, cutworms, and potato tuber moths has been remarkable, and he has also developed keys for the identification of white grubs based on their immature stages. He is a Fellow of the Indian Potato Association and a life member of several professional societies.

Dr Anil Jakhar completed his PhD in Entomology from CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University, Palampur, in 2013. He is serving in the capacity of Assistant Professor (Entomology) at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, with more than 9 years of professional experience. His expertise lies in Insect Toxicology and Biological control of insects. Besides research activities, Dr Jakhar is actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes. Dr Jakhar is a Fellow of the Entomological Society of India, New Delhi, and life member of the Society for Biocontrol Advancement, Bengaluru, and The Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata.
