About this book

Indian coastal and marine environments are bestowed with various splendid ecosystems like coral reefs, seagrasses, mangroves, wetlands etc. However, the knowledge about these ecosystems among school children and graduates is limited. Coastal Ecosystems of India is a learning experience for pupils who are fascinated and want to understand these ecosystems. Though there are many very useful foreign textbooks available on the subject, the authors feel that they are both costly and too voluminous and beyond the scope and comprehension of new readers. They hope that the collective information in this book will meet the needs of beginners and students. The explanations are supported by visual images of ecosystems, various species and satellite data, which could provide plenty of scope for the learners to understand the system easily.
