About this product

Designed for portability, this compact and lightweight Heath Trap uses an LED light source enabling it to be powered by smaller lithium batteries (not included). This trap is ideal for use in remote locations where mains power may not be available. It is easy to assemble and can be flat-packed, enabling it to easily fit into a daysack for ease of transport.

The trap is made from durable, lightweight, white polypropylene that reflects UV rather than absorbing it and uses 2x 2w LED units which can be powered by 4Ah or 8Ah batteries. Although this means catch rates are lower than that of other traps (catch rates for this trap are approaching that of a single 15w actinic), the batteries have the added benefit of being within the legal limit for air travel (always check with your airline). Please see the LED vs Actinic Comparison Chart for relative catch rates.

This moth trap will run from a 4Ah lithium battery for 9 hours or from an 8Ah lithium battery for 18 hours.

Please note: These LED moth traps operate most satisfactorily in areas where there are high densities of moths and may not therefore be ideal for use in gardens in the UK.
