The replacement name Longitarsus silbursaicus Lopatin, new name, is provided for Longitarsus seriepunctatus Lopatin, 1966 (non Roubal, 1943). The history of the leaf beetle studies in Eastern Europe and Northern Asia is briefly outlined. Zoogeographic features of the fauna, particularly endemism, are also discussed.
