Chlorine is the most commonly used water disinfectant chemical and is used in wastewater treatment plants and swimming pools as well as in both industrial and laundry bleaches. As such it can be very prevalent in natural water systems. Chlorine is very toxic to fish and aquatic organisms, even in fairly low concentrations. However, once added to water it quickly reacts with other substances to form combined chlorine.

The Total Chlorine Pocket Checker measures both free and combined forms of chlorine. These great value pocket checkers provide invaluable data regarding water quality and safety.
