Collection of 180 letters written either by or to Daniel Solander, offering important insights into some of the foremost scientific issues of the day and his close association with such remarkable men as Carl Linnaeus, Joseph Banks, John Ellis, and William Hunter. Solander was one of Linnaeus' greatest students and was sent to England in 1759 to promote Linnaeus' new system of classification.
