Language: German with bilingual summary in English and German
The jumping spiders form the largest spider family worldwide which includes about 4500 species. Until now there is only little known about ecology, faunistic, taxonomy and systematics of southeuropean Salticidae.
After a revision of the jumping spider fauna from Greece 121 species of 39 genera could be recorded for this country. The following 13 species among them are new: Aelurillus guecki sp. n., Aelurillus steinmetzi sp. n., Asianellus leipoldae sp. n., Chalcoscirtus helverseni sp. n., Euophrys sengleti sp. n., Habrocestum egaeum sp. n., Hyllus insularis sp. n., Leptorchestes halogena sp. n., Pellenes moreana sp. n., Pseudicius vankeeri sp. n., Salticus iteacus sp. n., Salticus noordami sp. n. and Thyene phragmitigrada sp. n.. The female of Aelurillus blandus is described and illustrated for the first time.
The species Afraflacilla epiblemoides, Bianor aurocinctus, Chalcoscirtus nigritus, Euophrys frontalis, Euophrys herbigrada, Evarcha laetabunda, Heliophanillus fulgens, Heliophanus edentulus, Heliophanus mordax, Heliophanus patagiatus, Marpissa muscosa, Myrmarachne formicaria, Neon levis, Pellenes seriatus, Pellenes tripunctatus, Phintella castriesiana, Phlegra fuscipes, Plexippus coccineus, Pseudicius kulczynskii, Sitticus inexpectus and Sitticus rupicola are recorded for the first time in Greece, the genera Afraflacilla and Hyllus are even new to Europe.
The species Calliethera olivacea L. Koch, 1867, Salticus nahaloren Logunov, 1996, Salticus simonii O. P.-Cambridge, 1872, Attus tauricus Thorell, 1875 and Euophrys prinkipona Roewer, 1951 are newly synonymized, a new synonymy of Attus eurinus Simon, 1871 is discussed. Macaroeris flavicomis (Simon, 1884) and Afraflacilla epiblemoides (Chyzer in Chyzer & Kulczynski, 1891) are newly combined.
The records of Heliophanus dampfi, Euophrys aeqipes ludio and Neaetha cerussata mentioned in the literature could not be proofed.
Based on morphological investigations the relationships between genera and species are discussed. Especially the morphological differences of the body scales are treated as a tool to classify the jumping spiders in a natural system.
About 50% of all european and more than 75% of all middle-european jumping spiders are distributed in Greece, consisting of holomediterranian, euro-sibirian, syrian and african fauna-elements.
For each species a distribution map is given, habitat structure and ecology preferences are obtained from the recording datas and are compared with existing informations in the literature.
