About this book

Language: English

From the preface:

"Noni (M. citrifolia L.) is a unique horticultural plant having tremendous demand for its nutraceutical and medicinal values. Recently the increased demand led to large scale commercial organic contract farming of Noni with the Technical support of the Indian Noni Cultivation Council (INCC). Crop improvement, water/nutritional requirement, and pest and disease management with bioagents are the research priorities. The WNRF, a research wing of Noni Biotech based in Chennai is giving utmost importance for the overall promotion of this underexploited crop. The biotic stress caused by diseases could considerably reduce the yield of fruits.

There is not much information in india on Noni diseases and their occurrence. The opportunity provided through the funded proiect enabled me to document several diseases and to develop ‘Ecofriendly Management‘ strategies to reduce yield loss and to improve growth of Noni. The Technical Bulletin is the outcome of the project with comprehensive information on various diseases observed and organic methods of disease management."
