This volume is the first attempt to present the distribution of all vascular plants in the territory of Albania. No similar work has been published thus far. Moreover, distribution data of single species from Albania are hardly available – not even Albanian flora works provide chorological information or remarks on the frequency of taxa. The Distribution Atlas of Vascular Plants in Albania includes detailed maps of over 3,100 taxa occurring in the wild in Albania. The species, occasionally species groups, are marked with different symbols for subtaxa. Cultivated, uncertain, questionable, erroneous and extinct occurrences are also included and distinguished from recent native occurrences. The maps are primarily based on field work and herbarium material collected in Albania by the authors between 2004 and 2017, amended with the results of the revision of European herbaria. The volume is based on the work of experts of critical groups and on the contributions of a number of colleagues.
