Spotted Eagles are a globally endangered species of raptor, which only few people have seen in the wild.

It is estimated that only about 900 pairs remain in Europe - with most of the breeding population that still survives concentrated in Eastern Europe. Habitat destruction and the more intensive agricultural and forestry practices that have accompanied European integration threaten the survival of the species.

This documentary focuses on the life of a pair of Spotted Eagles in their nesting area in Estonia and on their migration to their wintering area on the Arabian Peninsula. The programme contains unique footage showing this magnificent bird of prey, which is rarely seen in the wild and is difficult to film.
