About this book

Language: French

The deparment of Kouilou is Congo's only maritime region, and is an important flyway for many birds. This book summarizes the most common species of this coastal province, located between the Atlantic and the foothills of Mayombe. A total of 208 species were selected by the authors and are presented in detailed monographs: giving a general description and identification criteria, ecology, and status in the Congo. Phenology was established from field observations by the authors.

In this new edition, Vincent Delhaye-Prat and Christine Gonzalez-Dunia have enriched the work done for the first edition. Xavier Rufray contributed his knowledge for writing the monographs. Finally, Teva Kami, a Congolese botanist, was associated to present the main types of Kouilou natural habitats.
