About this book

Language: German

Ground beetles (Carabidae) can be found in almost all rural areas. They are one of the most species-rich beetle families in the world, with more than 560 species in Germany and 429 species in Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany. In this work, all species of Baden-Württemberg are presented with photos and distribution maps. The focus is on natural distribution, habitat requirements, threat status and necessary protective measures. Numerous photographs also show typical habitats. The work is based on a very large database collected over several decades. The book focuses on protection and development measures. Therefore, it is also an important basis for nature conservation and landscape planning.
