About this book

Language: German

Bugs, members of the insect order Hemiptera, are everywhere: on brownfields, meadows, in bogs or forests, on the coast or in the mountains. They live on herbs, grasses, shrubs or trees. Even in cities and gardens many species can be observed. Bugs are not always recognizable at first sight, as some species are very similar to beetles, mosquitoes, or ants. Ekkehard Wachmann and Jürgen Deckert, both well-known species connoisseurs, present over 300 of Germany's most remarkable species. The selection gives a representative overview of this diverse and fascinating insect group. Knowledge about morphology, development, way of life and distribution are conveyed, as well as characteristic features, similarities and possible confusion species. A list of the host plants can be searched for the bugs that live on them. A list of all species of bugs occurring in Germany completes this identification guide.
