The final section of the guide offers a section on the study of amphibians in the Catalonia and alphabetical indexes with scientific and Catalan species names. This book is aimed at a broad audience and features accessible writing and precise photographs. La guia conté una introducció amb consideracions generals sobre aquest grup faunístic com ara l’origen i evolució dels amfibis actuals o la seva biologia (naixement i fase d’ou, creixement i desenvolupament, alimentació, respiració, reproducció, etc.) que inclou unes molt exhaustives claus visuals d’identificació de postes i larves. Hi trobem també les característiques d’una bona observació (on, com i quan s’ha de fer), la diversitat d’hàbitats i quines són les amenaces que pateixen els amfibis (pèrdua i degradació de l’entorn, espècies invasores, malalties emergents, canvi climàtic, contaminació química, etc.). El llibre consta de 25 fitxes d’espècies autòctones i al·lòctones que ocupen vàries pàgines cada una i estan il·lustrades amb diferents fotografies dels diversos estadis de la metamorfosi dels amfibis, útils per a l’observació i que ens ajudaran a la identificació. La guia ens ofereix, per tancar el llibre, un apartat sobre l’estudi dels amfibis als Països Catalans i els índexs alfabètics per nom científic i per nom en català de les espècies, per facilitar la consulta. El text, clar i directe, i les fotografies precises permeten que la guia vagi dirigida a un ampli espectre de públic: des de naturalistes més especialitzats fins als simples aficionats que podran fer una descoberta autònoma d’aquestes espècies. Els autors del llibre, experts en batracologia, es dediquen a projectes de conservació, restauració de basses per a amfibis, activitats d’educació ambiental i publicacions de caràcter tècnic i divulgatives, entre d’altres.
