Many of the tropical eastern pacific groups or families of marine molluscs have already been the object of reports, detailed descriptions or systematic revisions, but a real up-to-date inventory and a complete revision of the species still have to be fulfilled for the Galapagos, although there have been preliminary and provisional lists in recent years. This series aims to fill the gap in the literature and cover most of the systematic groups of marine molluscs living in the Galapagos Islands.
