This compact bat box is designed to be built into a construction with standard bricks as it has a width of just half a brick, and a height of a full length. The front of the box is designed to sit flush with the bricks with a small lip protruding at the top to act as a weather shelter, preventing rain from entering the box, and a sand-blasted, textured ledge protruding from the entrance to allow easy access for the bats. 

The box is made of polymer concrete, which is completely freeze-thaw resistant, giving it a long lifespan. Inside the box, a textured wooden panel provides an area for the bats to rest. The front panel is removable to allow for maintenance (which should be carried out by a licensed professional when it is obvious that the box is empty). There are also two holes on the back plate for external mounting to walls, trees or poles, if necessary (but holes would need to be drilled through the wooden insert).

Please note that this box is unsuitable for installation in buildings over 18m.
