The December 2016 issue of British Birds contains the Report on Scarce Migrant Birds in Britain in 2014, dealing with the non-passerines.
This report presents data on the non-passerine scarce migrants recorded in Britain in 2014. Around 300 Great White Egrets represents yet another record total, and a huge advance on the previous record of 184 in 2013. It was also an excellent year for White-billed Diver, Glossy Ibis and Wryneck, all of which continue to increase. Species faring less well included Kentish Plover– for which it was the worst year on record – and Alpine Swift – the lowest total since 1971.
