Resulting from a joint SETAC and SOT (Society of Toxicology) workshop, the topics covered include biological bases of similarity and differences between human and ecosystem "health", environmental shaping of the human sense of well-being, policy-making implications of ecosystem-human health interconnections, and ecosystem buffering capacity and assimilative capacity versus human health.
