The book collects and summarizes the history of the design and construction of the Main Botanical Garden, at the Russian Academy of Sciences. It shows the cultural and scientific role of one of the largest objects of landscape architecture in Moscow. It includes an analysis of changes in the spatial structure of planting for the entire period of development of the Botanical Garden. It is the first time information is published on a number of promising projects of new exhibitions. Also included are archival materials on unrealized objects of architecture developed for the Main Botanical Garden in the 1945–1948 biennium.

В книге собраны и обобщены данные по истории проектирования и строительства ГБС РАН. Освещена культурная и научная роль одного из крупнейших объектов ландшафтной архитектуры на территории Москвы, показаны изменения в объемно-пространственной структуре насаждений ботанического сада, впервые публикуется целый ряд перспективных проектов новых экспозиций. В приложения включены архивные материалы по неосуществленным объектам архитектуры, разработанным для Главного ботанического сада в 1945–1948 гг.
