The sustainable and equitable management of Nepal’s forest resources requires a detailed compendium of forest knowledge that is accessible to all forest workers, policy makers, researchers and forestry graduates preparing for their public service examinations. Earlier editions of this book have served this purpose well since 2002, and there are no other publications of comparable depth and comprehensive cover of forest knowledge relevant to Nepal. This third revised edition is supported by the EnLiFT project (Enhancing Livelihoods and Food Security through Agroforestry and Community
Forestry in Nepal), which is funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), in order to maintain and update this invaluable resource. The new sections found in this volume pertain to silviculture of community forests and the economics of agroforestry. This edition of the Nepal Forestry Handbook has tried to revise especially data on forest resources and wildlife management.
