About this book
Providing a new and more accurate mathematical methodology for managing water reservoirs, this book uses chance constraints to ensure the reliability of the water supply and analyses the randomness in a historical record of water flows to generate more reliable predictions of future flows.
Contents
DETERMINISTIC MODELS FOR THE OPERATION AND DESIGN OF RESERVOIRS.; The Water Supply Function: Single Reservoir.; The Water Supply Function: Multiple Reservoirs.; The Hydropower Function.; Cost Allocation and Staging/Sequencing.; Integrating Reservoir Services.; RESERVOIR ALLOCATION AND REALLOCATION INCLUDING THE NEW MODEL FOR RESERVOIR RELIABILITY.; Allocating Reservoir Services Among Water Supply, Flood Control, and Hydropower: The Deterministic Flow Environment.; Achieving a Reliable Water Supply with Chance--Constrained Programming and Event Responsive Density Adjustment.; Revisiting Allocation with the New Model Enforcing a Reliability Requirement.; The Reallocation of Reservoir Services Using the Reliability--Constrained Reservoir Model.; Index.
