This Tawny owl nest box is an attractive and hard-wearing addition to any environment to provide increasing nesting opportunities for tawny owls. The box can either be fixed with straps, screws or nails. At each end of the box are three holes (for screws or nails) and two slots (for straps). The box has a hatch at the base for periodic cleaning out the box. This is made from recycled plastic and held in place with four stainless steel screws. 

The Tawny Owl Nest Box is made from certified sustainable exterior-grade plywood and should be mounted to the underside of a branch at an angle of 45° or less to the vertical (see image) with a clear flight path to the entrance.. It is recommended that ratchet straps or polypropylene rope (not included) are used to secure the box, as these will cause minimal damage to the tree. In a populated area, the box should be sited at a minimum of 3.7m from the ground. In quieter or more remote locations, it may be placed at a height of 3m. Always ensure that the entrance of the box is facing away from the prevailing wind.
