About this book

India's tiger population is officially estimated at 4,500, but the author believes the figure may be as low as 2,500 to 3,000 - and declining fast. The tiger, the forest and the people around it face a desperate struggle for survival. Can these three conflicting interests meet in harmony? In this beautifully illustrated book Valmik Thapar makes an impassioned plea for the tiger.
