About this book

Language: Bilingual in English and Czech

World of Tillandsias contains 96 pages and 430 pictures of more than 160 different species, varieties and forms of Tillandsia, all of them in flower. Each taxon has a short description, dimension data and a set of pictographs of cultivation needs. There is a very valuable and detailed description of most species of the subgenus Diaphoranthema. It took five years to take all the pictures for this book and two years for the layout. The taxonomy was reviewed by Mrs. Lieselotte Hromadnikof Kritzendorf, Austria. She is one of the best experts of airplants in Europe. To quote her: "Especially fort he Diaphoranthema group there is nothing comparable to it."

The author, Jan Maruška, studied at Mendels Agriculture University, Faculty of Horticulture, Brno, Czech Republic. He has been growing and collecting Tillandsia for twenty years and has hundreds of species, varieties and forms in his collection.
