About this book

Language: German

Energy production from wind power is an essential part of the energy transition in Germany. For years, however, studies have shown that bats and large birds in particular often die as a result of collisions with wind turbines. The correct handling of this dilemma represents a political, social and scientific challenge. In order to achieve the climate protection goals in agreement with the biodiversity goals within the framework of the energy transition, the new and further development of bat protection methods is central. This book deals with the latest findings and evidence on the possibilities of reducing the number of bat victims. Leading experts present the state of knowledge of their respective subject and field of activity, present new data and suggest conceptual changes. The book is aimed at scientists, expert reviewers, representatives of authorities, political representatives as well as representatives of nature conservation organizations and volunteers.
