About this book

Around the world, sustainable management and conservation practices aim to conserve and minimise the loss of biodiversity found in wetlands. However, in India the documentation of the various animal forms present in these wetlands does not exist, and only a partial list of taxa is known. The first edition of this book provided a baseline of information retrieved from earlier literature on the diversity of animals (Protozoa to Mammalia) from the Ramsar wetlands of India, documenting a total of 6478 species and their distribution. The second edition updates and adds discoveries made since.
