About this book

Language: Italian

Knowledge of the spontaneous flora (i.e. any plant that grows without assistance from humans, typically in areas managed by humans) of a region is fundamental to the management of plant and landscape resources. The Tuscan flora is numerically one of the richest and most diverse among the Italian regions. This knowledge is not based on the simple cataloguing of species, but above all on the description of distinctive characters, territorial distribution and analytical identification of components.

This is the final volume, published in two books of a demanding publishing project. This work represents the synthesis of decades of research carried out by the author on the regional territory and benefited from the specialist collaboration of other researchers at the University of Florence.

Volume 8 covers the Asteraceae genera Taraxacum, Hieracium, and Tolpis; and the orders Apiales and Dipsacales.
