About this book

Language: English

The present volume contains addenda and corrigenda to the previous Fossilium Catalogus volume of Riegraf (1995), as well as corrections to the former Coleoid monographs of V. Bülow-Trummer (1920), Engeser (1988), and Naef (1922). For various belemnite papers of H. de Blainville (1824-1827), J. Phillips (1829, 1835, 1865-1870, 1875), Raspail (1929), and M. Simpson (1855, 1866, 1882, 1942) the species described are shown in synoptical tables for better comparison, which may be of some importance for decisions on priority of published species.

In a complete list of about 30 homonyms on generic level and about 200 homonyms on the species level a replacement name for each preoccupied Coleoid taxon is suggested.
