The Gabriella Bat Box is an ideal nesting space for a range of bat species such as common pipistrelle, soprano pipistrelle and brown long-eared bat. It provides a large single internal compartment making it excellent for bat maternity roosts. It lies flat against the external surface of buildings minimising the chance of a strong wind knocking it free and reducing the impact on internal thermal conditions. The entrance hole at the base of the bat box means that it does not require cleaning as droppings will fall out of the bottom.
The Gabriella is very similar to the Elisa Bat Box but is bigger in size providing a larger single compartment. The Gabriella is constructed from wood concrete making this box durable, extremely long-lasting and comparatively light. It also provides excellent thermal properties compared to timber boxes, retaining heat and providing stable thermal conditions.
The Gabriella is supplied without fittings as the necessary supports will vary depending on whether the box is going to be mounted on a tree or wall. It does include two strong metal hangers to aid with placement. The Gabriella preferably should be positioned at a height of at least 3m from the ground, in a sheltered area out of direct sun and away from artificial light sources.
