This book concerns the use of graphs for the simulation and representation of transport networks. Philippe Mathis, EPHE, Docteur du 3e Cycle (Lettres), Docteur d'Etat (Sciences Economiques), teaches at the University of Tours, France. He has been Dean of the Planning Dpt. and Director of the CESA where he has created and headed a research laboratory. He has been commissioned for numerous studies in the planning field at local and regional levels as well as by the Ministry of Equipment. He is consultant for DATAR, and European Lead partner of the EPSON Project 1.2.1 "Transport Services and Networks". His main research area is space and transport modelling: graphs theory, urban societies' dynamics, and currently multilevel modelling and Multi Agents Systems.
